Improving the mechanization of Salicornia fresh tip production for food use (KIADPAI Award Project)

Objectives

  1. To develop a customized machine to harvest Salicornia fresh tips with the target to improve the mechanization of the crop directed for food use.
  2. To customize the management practices (irrigation, fertilization, sowing density) on the Salicornia fresh tips harvester machine and evaluate their impact on the fresh tips yield.
  3. To develop scenarios on how different management approaches affect the productivity, profitability and quality of Salicornia crop directed for food use at commercial scale.
