The regional training course on 'Investigation of Seawater Intrusion and Interrelationships between Aquifers Using Integrated Approach of Isotopes and Conventional Techniques' will be organized at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 7-11 September in Dubai at ICBA. The training event will involve lectures on basic concepts of hydro-chemical, hydrogeological and isotopic techniques applied to address groundwater salinization problems with a special emphasis on seawater intrusion, presentations of case studies involving an integrated approach and demonstrations on field sampling and monitoring. Working sessions will also be conducted to provide hands-on training in relevant computer exercises for data interpretation. Participants will come from Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Syria, UAE, and Yemen.
