Technical assistance to PHOSBOUCRAA FOUNDATION for Foum El Oued-Laayoune Project: Improvement of Forage Production System on Salt-Affected Farms

Problem Overview

Soil and water salinity is increasing in Foum El Oued – Laayoune area where farmers are mainly growing maize and alfalfa. The project therefore is aimed at assessing the existing farms and suggesting ways to improve the technical capacity of the farmers in forage maize and alfalfa crop management, and where necessary evaluate and introduce alternative salt-tolerant forages. 

Sustainable cropping of Foum El Oued perimeter through the rational use of natural resources and agricultural inputs.
