Dr. Abdullah Al-Dakheel is a senior fellow at ICBA. He joined the center in 2001 as a scientist. Before joining ICBA, he had worked with the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), United Arab Emirates University in Al-Ain (UAEU), and Aleppo University. He also served as a visiting scientist at the Department of Biology at the University of Utah.
He holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of California at Davis, USA, majoring in Plant Ecology, Agricultural Ecology, Arid Land Ecosystems/Physiological Ecology.
Throughout his career, he has been heavily involved in formulating strategies related to agricultural issues and research. He has led the development and establishment of complex multi-disciplinary research programs and facilities at ICBA and UAEU, which included more than 30 on-station projects and more than 12 internationally-funded projects in West and Central Asia and North Africa. He also taught more than 15 courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and published numerous scientific papers and books.
