Dr. Tesfaye has joined ICBA as Project Officer for the “Rehabilitation and Management of Salt-affected Lands to Increase Agricultural Productivity (RAMSAP)” project. He is based in Addisababa, Ethiopia. Prior to this assignment, he was working as Senior Soil Fertility Expert in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources (MoANR) in Ethiopia. He has also worked as Research Associate in the National Soil Research Center of Ethiopia. He has vast experience in the reclamation and management of saline and alkaline soils and mitigation strategies for the waterlogged areas.
In ICBA, he is responsible for the coordination of all project activities in Ethiopia and South Sudan. He is working closely with all national partners for smooth implementation of the project. He is responsible for the supervision of field trials in all locations, collection of secondary data, organizing trainings, facilitate partners in the organization of farmer field schools and liaison with all research and government organizations involved in this project.
Dr. Tesfaye holds a PhD degree in Tropical Agriculture (with specialization in Soil Science) from Keset Ssart University of Thailand. He has authored more than journal papers and project technical reports.
