Evaluation of proso millet accessions for yield performance and grain quality traits under moisture stress and saline conditions

Background

A set of promising 24 proso millet accessions were identified from previous studies conducted under moisture stress and salinity conditions. Single plant seeds were harvested from these accessions, and they need to be validated for yield performance and nutrient quality under different abiotic stress conditions over seasons.

Objectives

  • Identify high-yielding proso millet accessions under different growing conditions (freshwater, 50% irrigation, and salinity) of UAE.
  • Estimate the effect of moisture stress and salinity on grain nutritional quality parameters.
