This experiment forms part of ICBA’s long-term research on salt-tolerant forages. As part of the experiment, scientists study the effect of various levels of salinity on the growth and yield of Buffel grass genotypes. The experiment aims to:
- Assess Buffel grass germplasm, including local landraces, for salt tolerance;
- Evaluate the selected accessions for fresh and dry forage yield and nutritional quality under field conditions;
- Multiply and distribute seed among the national agricultural research systems in the West Asia and North Africa region.
