Improving the mechanization of Salicornia fresh tip production for food use (KIADPAI Award Project)
Objectives
- To develop a customized machine to harvest Salicornia fresh tips with the target to improve the mechanization of the crop directed for food use.
- To customize the management practices (irrigation, fertilization, sowing density) on the Salicornia fresh tips harvester machine and evaluate their impact on the fresh tips yield.
- To develop scenarios on how different management approaches affect the productivity, profitability and quality of Salicornia crop directed for food use at commercial scale.
