This event gathered various stakeholders that would be directly involved in the promotion of Quinoa agriculture in the UAE and other similar marginal environments. The video shows the speech by H.E. Saif Al Shara, Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural and Livestock Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Water of the UAE; in addition, a short interview with Dr. Ismahane Elouafi, Director General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA). ICBA has been conducting research on Quinoa, since 2006, far before the United Nations recognized Quinoa as the crop of the year for 2013. The results of ICBA trials on Quinoa in its research sites across various parts of the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia have shown very promising results that positions Quinoa as a super crop for marginal environments.
