Job Summary

Assist ICBA’s scientists in generating GIS maps needed for sustainable use of soil and water resources for food security and ecosystem services.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Support ICBA’s scientists in preparing GIS, satellite images, and remote sensing related research: generate high quality maps from image processing methods; undertake accuracy assessments to analyze the resulting maps; analyze generated data using GIS and relevant software’s / tools
  2. Support ICBA’s scientists in data analysis and interpretation, technical writing, and database management.
  3. Take lead in field – survey and geo-database development activities
  4. Support ICBA’s scientists in writing proposals and concept notes.
  5. Assist in preparing and conducting training programs on GIS in collaboration with ICBA’s Scientists.
  6. Other businesses like as needed by the SNRM Leader.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  1. BSc in GIS
  2. At least 3 years’ experience in GIS applications, preferably in agricultural and water domains
  3. Fluency in written and spoken English
  4. Fluency in Russian language
  5. Experience in remote sensing  
  6. Experience working as a member of multidisciplinary team

 

Desired

  1. Working knowledge of programming
  2. Knowledge of Arabic
