As part of ICBA’s efforts to reach more stakeholders around the world and transfer knowledge through capacity development offerings, ICBA is developing an E-Learning platform. This platform will provide a collection of digitized training courses in different topics. These courses will target different stakeholders around the world, including experts, technicians, extension officers, graduate, and post-graduate student with special focus on youth and women.

Job Summary

The assignment for this consultancy is to develop an E-learning course material on “Environmental impact of climate change in arid climatic conditions”. The course targets experts, technicians, extension officers and university students in fields related to Environmental and climate change. The language of the course is English.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Course syllabus and learning objectives.
  2. Course structure and learning guidelines and learning outcomes.
  3. Module I: Global warming and climate change
    1. Global climate change impact with focus on arid environments
    2. Global warming and greenhouse gases
    3. Impact of climate change on water resources
    4. Impact of climate change on crops production
    5. Learning assessment on the module
  4. Module II: Climat change adaptation strategies
    1. Climate change scenarios
    2. Climate change modeling tools
    3. Mitigation and adaptation strategies
    4. Crop production alternative strategies
    5. Learning assessment on the module
  5. Module III: Climate change monitoring systems
    1. Climate change early monitory systems
    2. Community tools for climate change adaptation in crops production
    3. Case studies on successful monitoring and adaptation strategies
    4. Learning assessment on the module
  6. Scripts for 3-5 minutes learning videos on each module
  7. Reading material – open sources – for each module
  8. Final learning assessment on the course
Qualifications and Experience
  • MSc or PhD in environment-related sciences.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in climate change studies and strategies.
  • Previous experience in developing educational or training contents.
  • Experience in climate change monitoring systems.
  • Fluent in English

Other requirements

  • The consultant will prepare the training contents using ICBA templates and branding guidelines.
  • ICBA will keep the right to use the provided material in other training contents and/or translate them to other language while maintaining the credit to the author.
  • The consultant is expected to finalize the course material within two months after signing the consultancy agreement..
  • The consultant must provide links to all open-source images, videos, data, and similar resources used in the training. ICBA can share their resources to include in the contents, if available
