ICBA pilots mobile app for plant disease detection in Egypt, Tunisia

In collaboration with the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain, the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) has developed a beta version of a mobile application to help identify and deal with diseases and nutritional disorders in different crops.
Salinity tolerance in rice varies over its life cycle. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms involved at different growth stages is critical for breeding genotypes that are salt-tolerant throughout the growth period and produce high yields.
New study fills knowledge gap on reproductive stage salinity tolerance in rice

A recent study by an international team of scientists, including Dr. R. K. Singh, Program Leader on Crop Diversification and Genetics at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), presents an in-depth analysis of the research to date on salt-tolerant rice varieties and offers new insights into phenotyping for salinity tolerance in rice at the reproductive stage.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Tarifa Alzaabi, Acting Director General of ICBA, and Mr. Nasser Sultan Al-Suwaidi, CEO of NOGA, in the presence of various partners and stakeholders.
ICBA to help Bahrain’s NOGA strengthen national capacity in water management

The International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) and the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain have joined forces to enhance institutional capacities in integrated water resources management in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
ICBA and NOGA inked an agreement to this effect during a virtual meeting hosted by NOGA on 24 June 2021.
